About Greenbrae Ltd

Merging the extensive joinery and building expertise and experience, spanning more than 30 years, of founders Kevin Davidson and Neil McPherson, Greenbrae Limited was established in January 2008.

In August 2009 we opened our Greenbrae Steading Showroom/Shop in Hopeman, Moray, to highlight and expand our activities in supplying and installing wood burning, multi-fuel and boiler stoves and hardwood flooring, and making furniture.

Our trade stand at the Black Isle Show in early August 2010 was very favourably received, as well as our second Showroom/Shop in Dingwall, Ross-shire, which opened the day after the Show and specialises in our complete service in stoves.

Our plan is to expand the Dingwall Showroom, to be able to display more stoves, cookers and all else we offer. In Autumn 2010 we also opened a branch in Thurso (Caithness, Highlands), and a modest Stove Showroom will be opened there soon.

Kevin Davidson

Born in Inverness, I have worked in the building industry for over 30 years. I am interested in sustainable building systems and traditional building methods. From 2006, I worked two years in Higher Education as a Traditional Building Skills Lecturer. Prior to this I traded as Davidson Builders and worked throughout Scotland on many Historic Buildings and Churches. I also built many new houses using traditional materials and methods. I feel that this helps maintain a high level of skill within the workforce.

By forming Greenbrae and joining with Neil, I believe we can offer our customers an individual and unrivalled service. Where required, we use small, local sub contractors we have worked with previously and whose skills we know and trust. All tradesmen/women used by Greenbrae are fully trained and certificated professionals. References and portfolios of previous work can be supplied.

Neil McPherson

Brought up in Hopeman, I decided to become a joiner after leaving school. I served my apprenticeship with a local firm where I received a good training on various types of joinery work, gaining an Advanced Craft qualification in Carpentry & Joinery, as well as a HND in Construction Management.

I have previously been self employed as a joiner, carrying out all types of joinery work, including manufacturing of doors, windows and custom built joinery. From 2002, I have been employed for six years as a Lecturer, in Carpentry & Joinery, at The North Highland College, in Thurso. Latterly I was based in Alness, where I was promoted to Assistant Section Leader to oversee the set-up and running of the new Construction Campus.

By combining Kevin's and my own experience and knowledge of the Construction Industry, we are offering our clients a unique and professional service. An area I would like to see our company promote is in providing quality training for future tradesmen/women.
